Volunteers are celebrated for their dedication to our students and schools

More than 130 Durham District School Board volunteers will be honoured at the 17th Annual Volunteer of Distinction Awards Ceremony. Volunteers are recognized for their extraordinary commitment to students. A reception will follow in the atrium of the Education Centre. The event is an opportunity for DDSB’s school communities to show their appreciation to all the amazing volunteers who support the success and well-being of our students and staff.

“We are so incredibly proud of and thankful for all of the Durham District School Board volunteers, who help to improve the well-being of our students, families and staff through the giving of their time and talent” said Michael Barrett, Chairperson of the Board and Trustee for Oshawa. “Every year we look forward to this special evening to show our appreciation to our volunteers who work so hard to support student success and achievement.”

The DDSB is expecting 400 people to attend to celebrate the great contributions of the volunteers.

“Our volunteers are an integral part of our DDSB community and we truly appreciate everything that they do,” said Lisa Millar, Director of Education. “They are leading examples of giving back to students and school communities. Their generosity and selflessness is immeasurable and we are happy to honour them at the Volunteer of Distinction Awards Ceremony.”
